Dongdan is the Beijing entry in NBA The Run and the home court of Street Legend Shen Tong, the 14-year-old phenom who, in the game’s lore, sharpened his game under the blinding sun of the Dongdan courts. Including it is a nod to how huge streetball is in China — Dongdan is widely considered the most famous pickup court in the country.

Real-World Inspiration

The court is based on the Dongdan Sports Center in central Beijing, a public sports complex whose outdoor hardcourts have become a basketball pilgrimage site — often called China’s streetball “holy land” and home to long-running grassroots tournaments. The real Dongdan is known for being packed with players at all hours, which gives it the same lived-in, community-court feel the game leans into.
