Amen Thompson is built to turn The Run into a track meet. Maxed dunks, maxed handles, 5 speed on a 6’7“ point guard — he grabs the rebound and he’s already gone, and what’s waiting at the end is a poster. The other half of the card is just as loud: a full 5 on Guard with 4 steals and 4 blocks, so the same athlete who’s flying downhill on offense is the one erasing your best scorer on defense. Grab-and-go is his whole game, and 5 stamina means he never has to get off the gas.

The catch is the jumper. A 3 from deep and 3 power mean he won’t bully you in the half court or punish you for sagging off — load up the paint and a stalled-out Amen has to create off the bounce instead of just blowing past you. He wants space and a runway, not a slog.

In the Zone: Lock Down. His signature is the all-around stopper Zone — it spikes every defensive rating at once (Steals, Blocks, Shove and Guard), and on a guy already maxed on Guard, that’s smothering. Put him on their go-to scorer and play up the floor: pick the ball clean, wall off the rim, body the driver, all in one possession. Every stop he gets is another fast break going the other way.

Run him with a knockdown shooter to punish the help his defense forces, and a half-court creator to carry the load when the open floor dries up. A pure floor-spacer like Damian Lillard is the cleanest fit — Amen’s speed and passing get him the ball moving, and the threat of his drives pries open the looks Dame cashes.
