Kawhi is the matchup-killer. Put him on the other team’s best scorer and watch the possession go quiet — a 5 on Guard, 5 steals, and the strong hands to pick a ballhandler clean before he ever gets downhill. The scary part is he’s just as switched-on the other way: 5 twos, 5 handles, and 5 speed mean he can iso his way to a tough bucket the moment a stop turns into a transition look. There’s no flashy crown on his card, just five different 5s that all point at a complete two-way wing.

He’s not a table-setter, and the card’s honest about it — 4 passes, 3 boards, 3 blocks. He’ll close a possession, not orchestrate one, and at the rim he’d rather body you than swat you. That’s fine. His job is to make one guy disappear and answer with a mid-range jumper, not to quarterback the offense.

In the Zone: Lock Down. This is the do-it-all defensive Zone — it lifts Steals, Blocks, Shove and Guard all at once, so already-elite Kawhi becomes a wall that picks pockets, walls off the rim, and wins the physical battle in the same possession. Pop it when the other team has a clear go-to scorer, glue Kawhi to him, and play up the floor. Even his soft spot — those 3 blocks — gets propped up while it’s live.

Run him with a real creator and a finisher who eat off his stops. A primary playmaker keeps the ball moving so Kawhi can hunt his isolation looks instead of initiating, and a downhill scorer cashes in the runouts every takeaway hands you.
