Brunson’s whole game is getting to a clean look, and as of the July 21 patch the card says it louder than anyone’s: he’s the game’s first four-crown player — gold on his twos, handles, stamina, and aura, with full 5s from deep and in passing on top. That’s a guard who can shake his man, score from all three levels, keep doing it all game, and find the open teammate when the help bites. And with a crowned aura, every bucket charges his own Zone meter at the maxed rate.

What he doesn’t give you is size or rim pop. 2 dunks, 2 boards, 2 blocks, 2 steals — he’s not finishing over length and he’s not protecting the paint. A 4 on guard keeps him from being a liability one-on-one, but a 6’2“ frame and 3 power mean a bigger ball-handler can lean through him. Pair him with someone who covers the back line and you’ve got a no-weakness scoring engine.

In the Zone: Ankle Breaker. This bumps his crowned handles even further and lets even his base dribble moves drop the on-ball defender to the floor. For a guard built on separation, that’s the whole window — chain a hesitation into a cross, watch your man slip, then take the open lane, rise into the pull-up, or collapse the help and kick. Keep the ball in his hands every second the Zone is live.

Run him with a rim-protecting big who erases the paint he can’t, plus a downhill finisher to cash the dimes his maxed passing keeps generating. Brunson creates the advantage; let a long stopper and a slasher turn it into points and clean up the one thing he can’t.
