Scouting Report

Strengths

  • +Advanced handles and change of pace for a rookie
  • +Elite passing vision out of pick-and-roll
  • +Confident step-back three-point range

Weaknesses

  • –3 dunks — finishes with touch, not power at the rim
  • –3 on guard and 2 blocks leave him a defensive target

This is the Rookie of the Year version — Luka before the bulk, when the whole game ran through his handle and his head. The card shows it: a crowned 5 on handles, 5 passes, 5 twos, 5 threes. He’s a 6’7“ point guard who can run a 3v3 offense by himself, walking defenders into bad spots and then either stepping into the deep ball or whipping the read across the floor. The step-back range is real here, so you can’t sag off him, and the maxed handle means you can’t crowd him either.

Where the throwback differs from current Luka is the body. This one’s a craft player — 4 power, 4 stamina, 3 dunks, 3 on guard. He’s got the 5 speed, but he wins on feel and timing, not contact — the floor general role fits better than the downhill bully act. The other gift is a crowned 5 aura: his own Zone meter charges at the maxed rate, so the takeover comes around quick.

In the Zone: Ankle Breaker. It bumps his already-maxed handles and lets even his base dribble tricks send the on-ball defender stumbling — a clean lane to the rim or a wide-open look on demand. With this Luka the move is patient: chain a hesi into a cross, read the reaction, then drive it or kick it. Get him the rock before you trigger so he’s breaking ankles from the first dribble.

Run him with a finisher who eats off his passing — a vertical big or a downhill slasher who turns those pick-and-roll reads into easy buckets. A second shooter to spread the floor lets the step-back and the kickouts both breathe, and a real stopper covers for the developing 3 on guard.
