- +Tight handle and pick-and-roll feel
- +High-level passing and floor reads
Weaknesses
- –A 3 on guard — gets hunted on switches
- –2 blocks, so no help at the rim
Hand Luka the rock and the half-court turns into a chess match he’s already three moves ahead in. The card backs it up: a crowned 5 in passes sitting next to maxed handles, maxed twos, and 5 speed on a 6’7“ guard. That’s a big, downhill creator who can get to any spot, bully a smaller defender off the dribble, and snap the ball to a cutter the instant the help leaks. The deep ball is a 4, not a five, so contested step-backs go cold in stretches, and a 3 on guard means he’s a target on the other end — but inside the arc and as a distributor, he tilts the whole floor.
In the Zone: Dropping Dimes. This is a passer’s takeover, and Luka’s the prototype for it. Pop it and his already-crowned passing climbs higher while his speed jumps — then every teammate who catches his feed and scores cashes it with a boost to their Shots rating. The buff rides the ball from creator to finisher. So when it’s live, don’t hunt your own look: whip it ahead to a shooter or a runner and let the dish do the damage.
Run him with a Deep Threat sniper — Luka feeds, they catch-and-shoot with the Dropping Dimes boost stacked on top, two advantages on one possession. A rim-runner who finishes lobs works the same way. Pair him with a real stopper, too, so that 3 on guard doesn’t get hunted every trip down.
