NBA Player
Cade Cunningham
A jumbo point guard who runs the show at his own pace.
Strengths
- +Primary playmaking and tempo control
- +Size advantage at the guard spot
- +Half-court shot creation
Weaknesses
- –Not an explosive leaper
- –Can play too deliberate against pressure
Cade runs the show, and the card backs it up — six fives across the sheet. He’s got 5 twos, 5 threes, 5 handles, 5 passes, 5 speed and 5 stamina, which is about as deep a tool kit as a lead guard gets here. At 6’6“ that’s a jumbo point who shoots over the smaller man, breaks him down off the bounce, or hits the cutter when help bites, and never runs out of gas doing it. He even guards (4) and protects the rim a little (4 blocks) for his position.
The catch is the finish at the rim and the burst: 3 dunks and 3 power. He’s not dunking through a wall, so against real contact he wins with skill and pace, not a leap. Patient is the right read for him — let the matchup come to you.
In the Zone: Going Off. It’s the do-it-all takeover — one window that lifts his shots, dunks, handles and passes all at once. For a guy who’s already maxed in most of those, that turns an orchestrator into a complete engine you can’t scheme. Sag off and he pulls up, crowd him and he drives or dishes; there’s no wrong move while it’s live. Stay aggressive and let the defense pick your poison.
Run him with a finisher and a stopper. Pair him with a downhill big who eats off his 5 passes — Cade’s a feed-first hub — and let a wing defender cover the explosion he doesn’t have.
