Trae’s whole sheet is built to bend a defense from the moment he crosses half court. A 5 from three means the contest doesn’t matter — he’s pulling from deep and you have to honor it, which drags a defender out and cracks the floor open. Back that with 5 twos, 5 handles, and 5 passes and you’ve got a guard who can shake his man, get downhill, or whip the ball to the open shooter with equal ease. Add 5 speed and 5 stamina and he’s running the show end to end without ever tiring out.

The card tells you exactly where to attack him too. He’s a 6’1“ guard with 2 dunks, 2 boards, 2 blocks, and a 3 on guard — try to finish over a rangy defender and the length swallows it, and on the other end bigger ball-handlers will hunt him every possession. He’s a creator who needs cover, not a stopper.

In the Zone: Dropping Dimes. Pop it and his already-elite passing climbs higher while his speed jumps — but the real payoff lands on his teammate. Anyone who catches his feed and scores does it with a boost to their Shots rating, so an open catch-and-shoot or a feed to a cutter cashes at a higher clip. Don’t force your own look when it’s live; the extra pass is worth more than the first shot.

Run him with a knockdown shooter and a rim-runner who finishes lobs — feed either one while Dropping Dimes is up and you stack two edges on the same possession. He also wants a switchy big or a wing stopper next to him to take the matchups his frame can’t.
