NBA Player
Tyrese Maxey
A blur on both ends who steals, blocks, and scores.
Strengths
- +Elite speed and on-ball defense
- +Strong steals and blocks for a guard
- +Dangerous three-level scorer
Weaknesses
- –Smaller frame inside
- –Reliant on a big to anchor the paint
Maxey is the guy who never lets you breathe. 5 speed, 5 handles, and the kind of full-court motor that makes every inbound feel like a trap — he jumps lanes (4 steals), swats guards who think they’re clear (4 blocks), and turns the steal into a layup before anyone’s reset. Then there’s the scoring: 5 twos, 5 threes, 5 passes. He cooks at all three levels and still finds the open man. The card only flinches inside — 3 dunks, 3 power, 3 boards on a 6’2“ frame — so he’s not the one finishing through traffic. He’s the one getting there first.
The other quiet weapon is the 5 aura. He charges his own Zone fast, which matters because of what he unlocks.
In the Zone: Rocket Man. Raises his Speed rating and kills the energy drain from sprinting. Maxey already runs you off the floor — now he does it every possession, no coasting, no picking spots. Grab the rebound and go. With no sprint cost, transition stops being a phase and becomes the whole game plan: he outraces the defense to the rim for the full window.
Run him with a paint anchor he can play off of — Giannis fits clean. Maxey’s speed and passing set the table in transition, and the big cleans the glass and guards the rim Maxey’s smaller frame can’t always reach. He brings the pace; the big covers the one hole on his sheet.
