Court Modifier
Oop City
Alley-oop finishes are worth bonus points (commonly cited as 3 or 4 per oop), making lobs the most efficient way to score for the round while other shots count for less.
What Oop City Does
Oop City — the ruleset’s official name, per the June 25, 2026 patch notes — turns the lob into the highest-value play of the round. Community reports describe it as alley-oops counting for extra — with everything else worth one point — so a single connected oop can swing the score more than two or three ordinary buckets. Sources differ on the exact figure (some say 3 points per oop, others cite roughly 4), so treat the precise number as not yet confirmed and play it as “oops are worth a lot more than anything else.”
Rarity: Rare. The June 25 patch re-weighted the ruleset pool — Oop City is now a Rare round (patch summary), so you’ll see it less often; know the plan before it shows up.
How to Win an Alley-Oop Round
This round rewards chemistry between a passer and a finisher. Get out in transition where the defense is unset, call for lobs off pick-and-rolls, and look for backdoor cuts to the rim. Timing matters — a missed or stripped lob is a wasted possession, so only throw it when your finisher has a clear runway.
Draft Implications
Having a strong passer and an above-the-rim finisher on the same roster turns this modifier into free points. If your squad is built around isolation scoring or pure shooting with no lob threat, Alley-Oop Bonus rounds are where you’ll fall behind — lean on defense and high-percentage looks to survive until the rule set changes.
