Weaknesses

–Just a 3 on guard and 3 steals — a target when switched onto shooters
–Best with the ball, not as a spot-up threat

This is the 2003-04 throwback card — LeBron before the jumper showed up, when it was all body and burst. Crowned dunks, 5 speed, 4 power on a 6’8“ frame: get him a step downhill and he’s a runaway truck to the rim. The current LeBron is the complete read-the-floor problem; the rookie is the freight-train half of him, dialed up. Pair the crowned dunks with that 5 speed and a defensive stop turns into a coast-to-coast finish through whatever’s waiting at the cup.

The tell is the perimeter. He’s a 4 from three with no crown and a 3 on guard — fine, not scary. So you don’t park him in the corner and you don’t ask him to switch onto a shooter all night. You point him at the rim. He’s a ball-in-hands attacker (4 handles, 4 passes), not a spot-up guy.

In the Zone: Posterizer. Pure rim pressure — it bumps his already-crowned dunks and his chance to posterize, and any defender he hangs on the poster stays down 1.5x longer, out of the next play. Against a packed lane the move isn’t to kick out, it’s to drive straight through the help and leave them on the floor. And his crowned aura means his own meter charges at the maxed rate, so the Zone comes back around quick — let him hunt contact and the highlights pay for the next activation.

Run him with a real shooter to drag the help out of his runway — a stretch big or a deep-range guard opens the lane he wants. Add a stopper who can guard the perimeter he can’t, and rookie LeBron just feasts downhill.
